As I sit here on a rather unusually warm winter day I think about how many animals I have rescued, owned, loved, and lost over the past 24 years. I loved each and every one with all my heart. I took care of them to the best of my ability, doctored them, comforted them, all the while they did the same for me. It's funny that no matter how bad a circumstance an animal came from, they know who loves them. They know who will always be there for them and they trust you unconditionally. The most shocking thing to me is how forgiving they can be of the humans that mistreated them and learn to re-trust a human again because they know now......they are finally where they belong. Where they will live out the rest of their days not having to worry about being abused, not loved, starved, beaten, or abandoned anymore. TRUST. How do animals do it? I haven't figured it out yet after all these years. I have seen the worst of the worst and yet in them is an innocence that can love again. I love to see them transform into the animal and pet they were always destined to be but didn't get the chance for so long. As time goes by, I hope to post some of those stories of transformation here. I hope that it touches each of you that read this and the stories to come. There is always hope. There is always love. There is always faith in humans and animals alike. Most of all, anything is possible. ANYTHING!!
